Politics

Politics is a game of life and it is only played and understood by the wise. Take it or leave it, politics is part of our everyday affair. If you have a Ph.D. in everything or a Masters degree in wisdom, without contributing to the political process in your nation, then I will consider you ignorant. "The worst illiterate is the political illiterate. He hears nothing, sees nothing, and takes no part in political life", Berfolt Brecht.

The game of politics takes only the wise who is politically and democratically inclined and fully liberated in mind for having interested on how he's being governed. Although I so much respect those who fear politics and always wants to abstain themselves from its dirtiest game. Nevertheless, I doff my cap for those who have been playing a very genuine politics without its bitterness. In real sense, whether we like it or not, this life itself is full of politics. And it determines how the future and the generation to come will live.

It happens everywhere. It operates within families, organizations and corporate ventures known as corporate office politics even the public sectors known as government. But must it be played with bitterness in "do-or-die" borrowing from Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's word.

Here comes my stand for appealing to all citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, home and abroad (Diaspora) to let's not fold our arms and stand akimbo. We must raise our voices and advise the youths to shun political and election violence. This is essential to preventing the spread of political thuggery and gangsterism. We all have a duty to uphold the peaceful coexistence of Nigeria as a unified state. Should any violence erupt during or after March 28th general elections, we are all guilty. It is essential to shun violence because election comes and go, the people of the nation especially in the same community remain.

The existence, continuity and maturity of our great nation will be on litmus test as Nigeria decides the future of generation to come with their power of vote comes March 28th. Nigeria and Nigerians must be very careful not to truncate their developing democratic process by logically and peaceful shun violence of any form. Nigeria is too big for President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan of People’s Democratic Party and General Muhammadu Buhari of All People’s Congress and any of their supporters including those mercenaries and sectarian group to destroy and consume due to their selfish interest.

We hope our dear people will yield to this alarming call and do the needful and help us sheath their sword of violence while exercising their franchise. Whether President Jonathan Goodluck or General Muhammadu Buhari is good or not, all I strongly believe is that one cannot be good enough for everybody, but will always be the best for the one who deserves such person. In lieu of this, who ever you think is the best for you whether by political party allegiance or through leadership charisma and capability found in your choice of candidate(s), please do it right and with honesty and peace without causing any chaos and nuisance to the public.

In appealing to you all, I strongly believe that your vote will speak, count and not disturbance. Also, the outcome of the election should be a reflection of what we are preaching and chanting which is positive change. Let it speak for itself through our clamoring for it not by adding more to Nigerians' injury of failed government. The state of Nigeria is too big for anyone to consume and destroy while we must not let our hero's past regret laying down this nation for us in vein. Let's Shun Political and Election Violence while Nigeria 2015 and beyond should be our paramount and collective sense of humor before, during and after March 28th general election.

God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria
